The familiar landmark of the Dom Hotel, in the shadow of Cologne Cathedral, is currently being extended and upgraded. 41 new suits and luxury rooms are being built for the 5-star hotel in the neighbouring Blau-Gold-Haus from the second floor. To this end, the Blau-Gold-Haus is currently being gutted - while respecting monument protection requirements - and its interior is being entirely redesigned. In the future, the floor-to-ceiling windows of the listed façade of the “Blau-Gold-Haus“ will allow guests an unforgettable view of the cathedral’s towers and will give rise to what will probably be Cologne’s most stunning hotel rooms.
